Joburg Workshop on String Theory

Counting Problems in Quantum Field Theory and String Theory

18-22 December 2017

The Mandelstam Institute for Theoretical Physics holds high energy theory workshops several times a year. The goal of the 9th Joburg Workshop on String Theory is two-fold. Firstly, we wish to expose our local community to exciting recent developments in understanding the degrees of freedom in gravitational, quantum field theoretic, and stringy systems. Secondly, we aim to stimulate discussion and interaction which might lead to new research directions and collaborations.

Associated to the workshop is the 2017 Joburg String School for students.
