Johannesburg is a young city that dominates the African continent.
It is a city built on a unique mining and financial history during its 123 year history.
It has always been a city of immigrants and migrants and transitions and transformations make for dynamism and expansion.
Joburg's people are innovative, thrusting and ambitious; they come from a diversity of cultures .
Ours is a city of wealth and poverty, but it is also a city of aspirations, where dreams sometimes do come true.
This is the only city in the world not built on a port or on a major river.
The geography and geology of the Witwatersrand offered a unique location and shaped the layering and development of
mining, industry, commerce, educational and residential endeavours.
